First Responder Assistance Program

At On The Job and Off we start with education, but the reality is that our jobs are hard. Education can set the foundation for wellness, but that doesn’t mean we won’t need additional support. We created FRAP to give you the support you deserve when you need it most.

“I was connected with a counselor from On the Job and Off’s First Responder Assistance Program at a time when I really needed help. My grief included anger, irritability, breakdowns, and sleeplessness. I wasn’t able to run fire calls or spend time at my fire house. I know now that reaching out for help does not make you weak; it takes a lot of courage to tell someone you don’t know how to handle what you’re going through. I want other first responders to know they can ask for help and that the help I got was exactly what I needed.”

Introducing On The job and off's First responder assistance program

What Is FRAP?

We realized that first responders weren’t connecting with therapists who were trained to understand the ins and outs of the emergency services. So we created the First Responder Assistance Program.

By joining FRAP, first responders gain access to culturally informed counselors.

Our counselors work with volunteer and career emergency service personnel, and both individuals and departments are eligible to join.
